Hirtsiefer Estate

Spaciously designed reform architecture estate dating from 1921 containing the Bockmühlen Park

The Hirtsiefer estate is an important example of non-profit residential housing with reform architecture dating from 1919 to 1930. Built by the architect, Theodor Suhnel (refer also to the estate on Matthäuskirchstraße), the Hirtsiefer estate was built as a green owner-occupier estate. Suhnel upgraded the estate in the densely populated district of Altendorf with green areas and parks. You enter the estate through an elegant green area at the front and come to the large Bockmühlen Park. You feel the spirit of the former times as you walk through the estate.

The urban development location at "Altendorfplatz" is also of interest. The tram leaves the Mühlbach Valley and goes up into a gate-like location which is formed by historical multi-family houses with oriels and gables. This is the entrance into the densely built-up district of Altendorf.
