ThyssenKrupp Quarter
Company headquarters on the landscaped quarter land, "Allee der Welten" along the generously created water axis
The newly constructed ThyssenKrupp headquarters at the old traditional site was and is a great gain for Essen. It was built to the design of the architects' office, Chaix & Morel et Associés, Paris, and JSWD Architekten und Partner, Cologne, who emerged as winners from an international architects' competition. The "Allee der Welten" – the 68 planted trees include 15 tree species from five continents – is particularly impressive. With this avenue, the ThyssenKrupp Group is aiming to highlight its internationality and global character.
